A Call to Prayer

A Call to Prayer from Rev. Don Thurman

Rev. Don Thurman

Rev. Don Thurman, IHA Board Member

As we look forward to our 2012 Camp Meeting, June 10-15, just 48 days from today, I am writing this Call to Prayer for another “time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19). Let us set aside each Tuesday as a day of prayer for the Camp Meeting. If possible let us gather in small groups and let us claim the promise of our Lord that if we will agree in prayer we will have what we ask of the Father (Matthew 18:19). If it is not possible for us to gather with a group for prayer, let us take time each Tuesday as our schedule permits to intercede for the Camp.

Let us ask in faith for the anointing of the precious Holy Spirit upon all the workers: Evangelist, Rev. Hal Daigre; the Bible Teacher, Rev. Esther Brown; the Worship Leader, Rev. Larry Dodds; the Children’s Workers, Rev. Cyril and Jan McKay and family; the Young People’s Evangelist Rev. Del Rittgers and family; and the World Gospel Missionaries Leroy and Sandy Anderson.

Let us pray for many to take advantage of the entire week of the daily Services : 7:30 AM Prayer, 10:00 AM Preaching , 2:30 PM Bible Study and 6:30 PM Evening Preaching Service and for the daily Children and Youth Meetings.

Our Lord Jesus challenges us with these words: “Whatsoever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you” (John 16:23)! Let us pray that many will experience the Saving and Sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit as well as spiritual renewal for all who attend to the glory and praise of our wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Editor's Note: As you gather for prayer — in Oskaloosa, Des Moines, Fremont, all over Iowa, and at KMBC — please leave comments below, letting us know when you're meeting, who is with you, and how the Lord is encouraging and leading you as you pray.

I will be praying! I am praying specifically for the teens who will be at camp – that God would be preparing their hearts for the work that He wants to do in their life…that the Lord would take care of any obstructions or hindrances that may keep them from coming to camp (whether it be financial issues, scheduling problems, sickness, family issues, etc)…and that He would soften their hearts and give them a desire to draw closer to Him! I pray that this year at camp many of them will accept Christ as their personal Savior, become sanctified holy, receive calls into ministry, be able to deal with all of the issues and baggage that is a part of their lives, that they would be completely SOLD OUT to Him!

When you pray for IHA Campmeeting, please remember to pray for our teens. God has something mighty and wonderful that He wants to do within each of them this year.

We are soooo excited about the children’s program. We are praying for every child who will be in attendance, that they would make Christ the King of their heart. We are planning for a fun week. This spring Olivia attended Phase II training for chalk art and will be presenting a chalk talk with a beautiful hidden picture in black light.
The most important decision a child came make is that Christ will be the center of their life, keeping them pure throughout all the days of their youth. We are so honored to be able to minister to the children.
